The iPhone 7 has just overtaken the iPhone 7 Plus as the biggest smartphone maker by smartphone share in the US, according to new data from research firm Strategy Analytics.
Analysts at Strategy Analytics polled more than 30,000 smartphone users from January to February to see which iPhone brand they preferred.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S Plus were the clear winners, with a combined share of nearly 38% of smartphone users.
The majority of iPhone users were either from the US or Mexico.
The iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone SE were also the most popular phones among iPhone users in Mexico, while the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 4S, and 4S Plus also made the top five in the country.
While analysts said the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 were the most powerful devices, they also found the iPhone SE and iPhone X had the largest market share in Mexico.
While Apple has been making big announcements about the iPhone, the company has been slowly ramping up its smartphone manufacturing capacity in Mexico to meet demand in the market.
That’s also been an ongoing focus of Apple’s strategy.
Apple’s plans for Mexico have been largely in the works for a while, but the iPhone’s growth there is particularly interesting.
The company’s production of iPhones in Mexico began in 2011 and has continued to ramp up, with the company recently announcing plans to build 1.5 million iPhone 5s production lines in Mexico and build another 1 million in the United States by 2019.
The new iPhone is expected to be the company’s first iPhone in Mexico since the company began manufacturing iPhones in the Mexican city of Cupertino in 2016.
