London Free Ppress founder Andrew Pasho will be honored with a new statue outside the American embassy in London on Friday.
Pashu was born in Zimbabwe in 1954 and moved to the UK in 1986 to study law.
In 1998 he founded the Free Press to press for freedom in the country.
He has been praised for building a strong network of contacts to advocate for freedom, but he has also faced criticism for his treatment of journalists, with many calling his regime in Zimbabwe a threat to free speech.
Here’s what you need know about him and the Free P Press.
