Manhunt for a man who allegedly attacked police during the siege of the Manus Island detention centre has resumed as the manhunt for his alleged attacker continues.

“The man was apprehended by police on Sunday morning in a nearby area,” a police statement said.
“We will not reveal his identity at this stage as police would prefer to keep the incident quiet and secure.”
However, the man is now in custody and police will not be revealing his name until he is charged.
“He will appear before a court on Monday morning.”
Police have also charged a 19-yo woman with breaching the court order not to be a danger to the public.
The woman was granted bond but refused the court’s orders not to leave custody.
“At this stage police would like to make it clear that we have no further information to share,” the statement said, adding that she had not been charged.
The Manisia siege has seen more than 200 people injured, and about 60 people have died.
