CAMBRODAN — Cambridge University Press announced on Thursday that it has created a new press book for students.
The new book, The Cambridge University Hand-Press, will be published by the Cambridge University Publishing Group in the United Kingdom, the university said.
Cambridge University Press is the world’s leading publishing house for high-impact, high-quality literature.
It is also a leading university publishing and scholarship publisher, with more than 5,500 titles published in more than 50 languages, including over 600 English titles, and an annual budget of $2 billion.
The Cambridge University Paper Press and Cambridge University Publications have been co-founded by Richard C. Waddell, a professor of history and the former chairman of the board of trustees of the Cambridge-based American Historical Association.
In an interview with The News24, Waddells chief executive, Ben Gartland, said the goal of the new book is to create a place where students can find books that are both accessible and interesting.
The new book will be available on Amazon, where the first 100 copies of the paperback edition of The Cambridge Hand-press are available for $7.50.
Wads of pamphlets, short stories and essays are also available.
Camden University Press also announced a second book in the series.
The book, “The Cambridge Handbook of the Hand-Pressed Press,” will be released in the fall of 2018.
It will be a collection of more than 400 hand-press articles published over the past 50 years.
“These books are not meant to be textbooks or technical manuals but to offer students and scholars a wealth of knowledge and perspectives on the history and development of the hand-pressed press,” said Waddels chief executive.
Waddell said the new Cambridge Hand Press will not be a textbook, but will be “a valuable resource for students and researchers.”
The Cambridge Hand Pressed Press was founded in 1984 and is a major source of inspiration for students of print and digital media.
The hand-printed, text-driven, printed-on-demand, mass-produced press is the oldest continuously operating press in the world, and one of the few to survive in its modern form.
The press is an essential tool for the printing, processing and distribution of printed materials.
Wads of literature are also widely distributed by publishers including HarperCollins, Penguin, Little, Brown and Simon & Schuster.
The Cambridge Library has also published some of the books.
The University Press of America has an online archive of print publications that include the Cambridge Hand Prints.
