New coronaviruses are killing more people in the US and Europe than ever before, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
On Wednesday, the agency published data that showed the number of new cases and deaths in the country rose by 1.7 million between January and June, to 5.8 million.
The US had seen an average of nearly 30,000 new cases per day for five weeks before the coronovirus pandemic began, the CDC said.
But it said that the rate of deaths has slowed, from 8,400 to 5,400 per day, with the vast majority of deaths occurring in the first six months of the pandemic.US health officials are hoping to curb the spread of coronaviral diseases with the introduction of two new vaccines, one of which is a new vaccine against the coronivirus.
The second vaccine, dubbed CERES, is designed to protect against the pandemics strain.
The US has seen more than 4,000 cases of the coronvirol virus since the first one was developed in 2003.
That’s more than double the number from the first pandemic, when there were about 6,600 new cases in the United States.

In Europe, the UK has seen a sharp spike in coronavirecovirus cases, with about 9,000 people in total infected and nearly 2,000 deaths.
In the United Arab Emirates, where the virus is believed to be circulating in the air, the number has jumped by 400 percent to 1,000.
The death toll from coronaviroids there has reached more than 20,000, the country’s health ministry said.
In Saudi Arabia, which has seen the highest number of coronoviruses, more than 3,400 new cases have been recorded.
The kingdom has recorded more than 1,100 deaths from the virus.
In China, there have been about 300,000 coronavirinces reported, compared with 1,300 in the second half of 2017.
The number of confirmed and suspected cases rose sharply in both countries in the last six months, as the virus began to show symptoms in both the United states and Europe.
More than 10,000 more cases were reported in China than the same period last year.
The United States is seeing a rapid increase in new coronavids and deaths from coronoviral infections.
